FANA is an institution authorized to carry out the adoption program in Colombia. FANA is licensed by ICBF and is governed by the Code of Children and Adolescents, the Colombian Adoption Guidelines and the HAGUE International Convention.

WHAT IS ADOPTION?
"Set of activities aimed at restoring the right of the child or adolescent to have a family"
"Adoption is, principally and par excellence, a measure of protection through which, under the supreme supervision of the State, the paternalial relationship between persons who do not have it by nature is irrevocably established." (The Childhood and Adolescent Code)

Foreign families can adopt children 7 and older, sibling groups of three or more, and children of any age with medical need.

Colombian families can adopt respecting the age ranges. According to the immigration laws of Colombia, a Colombian Citizen can demonstrate their citizenship with a Cédula and Colombian Passport. If your mother or father is Colombian, you have the right to ask for a Colombian Citizenship.
ADOPTION PROCESS

Be over 25 and be at least 15 years older than the child.

Demonstrate physical, mental, moral and social suitability.

Applicants between 25 and 45 years – Children between 0 to 4 years, 11 months
